HTC Desire?

Should I switch?

Should I?  Should I?

Dammit, I’m so fickle.  I need to test out the interface first… I don’t mind spending some time to learn how to play around with an Android phone, but I certainly don’t want frustrations if the user interface is bad.

Not that Desire will be bad.  On the contrary, I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews and comment about the phone.

That said… it’s gonna be a pain in the ass to convert all my DRM-locked iTunes songs to MP3 format so that the Android phone can read it.  And then those iPhone Apps that I’ve already bought.

Argh… I really hate how Apple restricts everything to themselves…

Meh, not in a good mood to type a proper entry.  Just leave it here while I go sulk about stuff… -.-

OH YEAH.  MY DRUID HITS LEVEL 80 FINALLY!  So yeah, I’m a tree now.  A happy tree.  But gonna be a disgruntled one once Cataclysm hits.

I Noticed…

… that I’m getting better at EDMW language. LOL.

I think dearie will faint if I ever use EDMW language while sms-ing him.  :D

That aside, I’m thinking of getting a new handphone.  Don’t get my wrong, my iPhone 3Gs is still working rather well, but frankly speaking, I’m getting a little sick at its inflexibility (with file formats and iTunes) and instability (frequent crashing of apps and freezing of phone).  I’m currently considering an Andriod phone, since it’s one which I’ve never used before.

True, AppStore is a gem on its own but honestly speaking, I can do without the apps.  I hardly play any games on my phone (except that occasional Words With Friends with my sis and dearie), and I honestly don’t mind giving up the games part (though I’m fairly certain Andriod has its fair share of games apps too).

Question is, how the hell can I get a hands-on on an Andriod 2.0 phone?  I’ve heard quite a few nice things about the latest Samsung Galaxy S (although with a few negative reviews as well), but it seems that no one around me has it as almost everyone is using an iPhone nowadays.  Sigh…

Not to mention that currently only Singtel carries Galaxy S… Meh.

Warning: Video-Intensive Post

Just wanna share some of the most epic trailer music out there!  Yeah, I know I’ve posted in Facebook, but there’s so many that I can’t really spam there anyways!  So here they are:

Akkadian Empire by AudioMachine

This one has been used in quite a lot of trailers, but most notably in Avatar trailer (that was with choir), as well the last part of StarCraft 2: Ghost of The Past trailer (version used is without choir).

Up next, it’s Freedom Fighters by Two Steps From Hell (featured in the latest Star Trek movie trailer):

I’ve listened to most of the albums by Two Steps From Hell, and I have to say this is one of the better ones. The others are a little “meh”, to be honest. AudioMachine is different. Most of AudioMachine’s music are epic. E-P-I-C. Perhaps not all are dramatic, but most are good.

Next one consist of three Movements: Requiem of A Tower – Movement II, III and IV, remixed by Corner Stone Cues. This is featured in the official Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers trailer, and technically you should listen to them in this order: Movement II, IV, then III. You can buy them in iTunes, and trust me, the three pieces flow like a whole song if you listen to them in the order that I recommended you. Here are the separate videos of the three Movements, but in my order (please be forewarned that the third video will take some time to load):

Requiem of A Tower – Movement II

Requiem of A Tower – Movement IV

Requiem of A Tower – Movement III

Cool huh! :D

Lastly, I just wanna share some other music that was created by AudioMachine, but I can’t exactly remember if they had been used in any trailers. But nevertheless, they are good!

Nordica by AudioMachine

Rising From The Ashes by AudioMachine

AudioMachine really has a lot, a lot of excellent music that I can simply put in most of the movie trailers. They are exceptionally good. Do check them out on YouTube. Unfortunately AudioMachine doesn’t sell their music to public, so you won’t be getting your hands on their CD. Neither would movie soundtracks feature trailer music in the OST, so you can almost forget about getting your hands on these mp3s (unless you have connections or is extremely resourceful). But trust me, the mp3s sounded really way better than those you heard on YouTube. I know, because I have them. ;) (All thanks to you, dearie!)

Yeah… hope you’ve enjoyed these epic pieces of music! I’ve been listening to them for weeks already, and I’m still not tired of them. Maybe I’m a sucker for epic music like these. XD

PS: Yes, I’m changing the theme back to one which I had used before. Simply because it’s simple and it gave no problems… so yeah. :)

Lost?!

Not me, lol.

I didn’t notice the blogroll was missing from the navigation pane on the right, until just now.  So yeah, I’ve added the links back in.  A couple of the blogs are kinda inactive… but hey, I wouldn’t know when they will update again, so I’ll just leave them there for now.

Gonna head to bed now, so yeah, will post a proper entry some day soon, when there’s something for me to blog about.  :D

Not Quite..?

I’ve somewhat gotten better!  But not quite fully recovered yet, though.  >_<;  Still, I’m thankful that I’ve gotten better, thanks to the medicine that the two patient doctors have been prescribing me over at My Doctor’s Place clinic.  My coughing has gotten a lot better; my voice has somewhat returned to normal; and there is a lot less phlegm compared to the previous week.  Now, it’s just an occasional itch in the throat that makes me cough, as well as the feeling of not being able to get enough breath despite breathing in deep all the time.  Hopefully, the situation will improve and I’ll be able to recover fully somewhat soon… well at least I must be fully recovered (101%!) before my next Winter trip to Finland this coming January!  It’s definitely gonna be a lot colder than all my previous trips, so I really can’t afford to be weak!  >_<!

Recently I’ve been busy reading online scanlation of a particular manga series, one genre which I never thought I would be interested in.  It’s quite full of gore (medical surgeries and stuff) and to be honest, some of the panels were quite sick.  But the whole manga managed to stay light, thanks to the mangaka and his main character, who’s a delightfully naive “girl”.  She’s just so endearing!  In any case, if you can stomach gore and is looking for some interesting manga to read, do give Franken Fran a try.  I love the series now, and I can’t wait for the next chapter to be out!  If there’s anywhere in Singapore that sells the English version of this manga, I’ll definitely buy it!

Ever since Starcraft 2 is out (which is just yesterday), I feel that I’m somewhat “boyfriend-less” these two days.  Haha!  I’m not complaining, though!  I know Reko simply love this game to bits and I don’t mind him ignoring me just for the game.  Besides, he didn’t fully ignored me.  He still periodically checked MSN to see if I left him any messages, and will periodically update me when he’s going to get food and stuff like that.  It’s just that we talked a lot lesser these two days, but it’s something that I understand.  XD  Afterall, it was a twelve year wait for him.  :P

Guess I should be heading to bed after this entry.  I shouldn’t be sleeping too late now, as I still need enough sleep to recover faster!

Still…

After three courses of antibiotics, three changes made to my cough syrup… I’ve still yet to recover.

Sigh.

Doctor even prescribed me a medicine meant for bronchitis patients – to open up my airway in the hope of easing the phlegm that’s stuck there.  The side effect of that medicine is that… I’ll have heart palpitations.  True enough, I felt my heartbeat going a lot faster after taking that medicine, to the point where I have to reduce the dosage.

Meh… and despite all these, I still have not recover yet.  Dur… :(

<3

I like this theme better.  :D

Not too girly, not too artsy, yet have my favourite colours (purple and pink).

<3

That aside, I’m on 2 days MC.  LOL.  My voice is kinda “manly”, “sexy” and “raspy” now.  Doc said my vocal chords are swollen.  o_O  She specifically reminded me not to strain my voice for these few days… but how do I not strain it when my hacking cough is hurting it more than normal >_>?

Oh well.  At least I’m not coughing that much now, thanks to the cough medicine that she had prescribed for me.  The only side effect is that I’m feeling drowsy for the whole day… or maybe that’s due to lack of caffeine.  :D

Finally!

Daily direct flights to Helsinki from Singapore with Finnair!

<3

Good news?  You bet!  No more seven hours of transit over at Japan airports!  (Although it meant no shopping for Japanese snacks and Starbucks >_<… but one must learn to sacrifice!  *nods nods*)

That’s probably one of the better news that hit me this week.

Other than that… none, really.  I was so sick on Friday that I lost my voice yesterday and today.  LOL.  Absolutely no voice.  I could hardly manage a croak.  Argh…

On top of that, I’m coughing pretty badly at the moment.  Throat itches so damn bad and it’s hurting too, from all the hard coughing.  Wonder how am I gonna make it tomorrow at work… z_z

And.. guess what?  There’s a pretty nasty ant that bit me on both feet last Tuesday… and the bites got infected.  D:  The bites had gotten so bad that I had to see a doctor and he had to prescribed antibiotics for me @_@!  But I must say it had gotten better really fast after that…  There are still red patches and blotches around the bite areas, but at least the itch is kinda going away and the swell had gone down too.

What a week it had been for me huh.. -_-;  Let’s see if next week would be better… >_>

Thoughts / Rants / Whatever

And so, I think Facebook is the culprit after all.  Ever since I stop listing my website on my FB profile, there has been zero spam comments.  ZERO.

Nice.  :D

Anyway, I’ve updated the iPhone iOS4.0, and sad to say, it’s not a very “worthy” upgrade.

Let’s see the key features:-

1)  Multi-Tasking

Yes, this is one feature that iPhone users have been clamouring for.  However, it wasn’t as great as what I had expected.  I mean, yeah, it worked, but most of the apps that actually still works in iOS4.0 don’t support this multi-tasking feature.  Meaning to say, you could leave this app running in the background and switch to another app, but when you want to come back to this app, the chances are you’ll have to load the app from the beginning again, and not where you left off, as what Apple claims it to do.  Yeah, it will probably be as what Apple had claimed eventually, but that’ll take time for the app developers to actually go update and fix their apps.

2)  5x Digital Zoom

Now… we all know that digital zoom compromises on the photo quality.  And the photo quality of those taken by iPhone… are not great to begin with.  Need I say more?

3)  Wallpaper on home screen

That’s just a cosmetic change, nothing else.

I can safely say, in my humble opinion, that this is by far the least exciting OS update from Apple, ever.  -_-;

Now with that out of the way…

Tomorrow is another Monday, another new week.  Why does time seem to go so slowly?  It’s another seven months to my winter vacation… I wonder if I should go for a mini vacation/staycation before that, so that I don’t go crazy from everything… >_>

iOS 4.0!

Today is the day when iOS 4.0 will be released!  I’m still eagerly awaiting the download from iTunes, but unfortunately I think it’s gonna be released only when I’m fast asleep. -.-;  Also, there’s the possibility that the iTunes server would crash from all the heavy traffic… so I guess my best bet would just be to go sleep early, and wake up early to update my 3GS.

Rawr!  I want background on home screen!  I’ve downloaded so many nice backgrounds in anticipation of this update, and I just can’t wait to put them into good use.  :D  Same goes for multi-tasking!  Oh, how long have we been waiting for that now, really!

Arggghhh… if only it’ll be available for download before I go sleep… T_T
