I’ve Been Promoted… In Life.

Yup.  I’m an Aunt now.  :D

My sis had given birth to a healthy 2.86kg baby boy, whom they’d decided to name Dylan, at Mount Elizabeth at noon (estimated) on 21 Feb 2009.

Happy (belated!) Birthday, Dylan!

Babies look so agonisingly small and fragile… I didn’t even dare to touch Dylan when the nurse brought him into the ward for his first breastfeed.  But I can safely say that he’s an energetic one… While Reko and I were spying on him through the windows of the nursery, he was sleeping (I think), but he kept stretching and kicking.  o_O  Yeah, it’s very obvious that he was kicking coz the end of his blanket flew up every few seconds or so for the five minutes that we stood there.  XD

Well, no photos of Dylan yet for now, as my sis was not feeling that well after the ordeal, so the baby was kept in the nursery most of the times, except for that one time when my sis breastfed him.  I didn’t really look as I thought it’s quite a private moment for her and Kelvin.

Even though it’s amazing how a new life is brought to the world, I can never see myself holding a newborn, much less carrying one inside me for nine months.  I’m never a baby-person.  I get chills just looking at the tiny creature.  I mean, I feel fine when I’m looking at Dylan through the windows, but when he’s right there in front of me, I got the chills.  Don’t ask me why.  >_>;;

Reko wasn’t quite enthusiastic about babies either, but he went to the hospital with me anyway to visit my sis.  He even sat in the darkness silently with me, as we stayed in my sis’ ward to keep her “company” while she slept.  I felt a little bad and guilty as he kinda wasted almost half a day there, not understanding much of our conversation (as my sis and I are used to converse in Mandarin), and didn’t have the chance to talk much with me, except during dinner and on the way home.  :(

Well in any way, my sis and bro-in-law definitely appreciated his presence, and I’m glad he’s with me there at the hospital.  Thanks, dear.  ^_^

Ahh, I should sleep early.  Need to go to the hospital again later in a few hours time!  Let’s hope I’ll be able to take some photos of baby Dylan.  :D
