That aside, I’m on 2 days MC.  LOL.  My voice is kinda “manly”, “sexy” and “raspy” now.  Doc said my vocal chords are swollen.  o_O  She specifically reminded me not to strain my voice for these few days… but how do I not strain it when my hacking cough is hurting it more than normal >_>?

Oh well.  At least I’m not coughing that much now, thanks to the cough medicine that she had prescribed for me.  The only side effect is that I’m feeling drowsy for the whole day… or maybe that’s due to lack of caffeine.  :D

Good news?  You bet!  No more seven hours of transit over at Japan airports!  (Although it meant no shopping for Japanese snacks and Starbucks >_<… but one must learn to sacrifice!  *nods nods*)

That’s probably one of the better news that hit me this week.

Other than that… none, really.  I was so sick on Friday that I lost my voice yesterday and today.  LOL.  Absolutely no voice.  I could hardly manage a croak.  Argh…

On top of that, I’m coughing pretty badly at the moment.  Throat itches so damn bad and it’s hurting too, from all the hard coughing.  Wonder how am I gonna make it tomorrow at work… z_z

And.. guess what?  There’s a pretty nasty ant that bit me on both feet last Tuesday… and the bites got infected.  D:  The bites had gotten so bad that I had to see a doctor and he had to prescribed antibiotics for me @_@!  But I must say it had gotten better really fast after that…  There are still red patches and blotches around the bite areas, but at least the itch is kinda going away and the swell had gone down too.

What a week it had been for me huh.. -_-;  Let’s see if next week would be better… >_>

And so, I think Facebook is the culprit after all.  Ever since I stop listing my website on my FB profile, there has been zero spam comments.  ZERO.

Nice.  :D

Anyway, I’ve updated the iPhone iOS4.0, and sad to say, it’s not a very “worthy” upgrade.

Let’s see the key features:-

1)  Multi-Tasking

Yes, this is one feature that iPhone users have been clamouring for.  However, it wasn’t as great as what I had expected.  I mean, yeah, it worked, but most of the apps that actually still works in iOS4.0 don’t support this multi-tasking feature.  Meaning to say, you could leave this app running in the background and switch to another app, but when you want to come back to this app, the chances are you’ll have to load the app from the beginning again, and not where you left off, as what Apple claims it to do.  Yeah, it will probably be as what Apple had claimed eventually, but that’ll take time for the app developers to actually go update and fix their apps.

2)  5x Digital Zoom

Now… we all know that digital zoom compromises on the photo quality.  And the photo quality of those taken by iPhone… are not great to begin with.  Need I say more?

3)  Wallpaper on home screen

That’s just a cosmetic change, nothing else.

I can safely say, in my humble opinion, that this is by far the least exciting OS update from Apple, ever.  -_-;

Now with that out of the way…

Tomorrow is another Monday, another new week.  Why does time seem to go so slowly?  It’s another seven months to my winter vacation… I wonder if I should go for a mini vacation/staycation before that, so that I don’t go crazy from everything… >_>

Today is the day when iOS 4.0 will be released!  I’m still eagerly awaiting the download from iTunes, but unfortunately I think it’s gonna be released only when I’m fast asleep. -.-;  Also, there’s the possibility that the iTunes server would crash from all the heavy traffic… so I guess my best bet would just be to go sleep early, and wake up early to update my 3GS.

Rawr!  I want background on home screen!  I’ve downloaded so many nice backgrounds in anticipation of this update, and I just can’t wait to put them into good use.  :D  Same goes for multi-tasking!  Oh, how long have we been waiting for that now, really!

Arggghhh… if only it’ll be available for download before I go sleep… T_T

… new theme again.

The previous theme was okay…  I mean, yeah it was cute and stuff, but for some reason I didn’t like it that much.  It just doesn’t suit what I’m feeling at the moment.

Reko said this is “too plain” for me when all the while I was more inclined towards things that were more “anime” and “flowery”.  This seemed a little too serious and plain.

Well… that’s how I want it to be for now.  Plain.  Plain and simple.  I’m very tired of anything complicated at the moment, so… yeah.  Plain is nice.

Plus, I like coffee.  ;)

Argh, this is giving me a headache.

Reko and I wanted to go Saariselkä again next January, but that log cabin that we rented (well technically, it was his mom who paid for it) was really a tad too expensive.  I mean, EUR1000 for two nights?!  That’s SGD2,000 for just two nights’ stay.  >_>  Sure, the cabin was very nice – with full tableware, dishwasher, coffee maker, washing machine, electric drying closet, a huge and nice fireplace, 3 bedrooms, etc etc… but we sure as well don’t need 3 bedrooms – a.k.a. 6 beds.  Hence, this time round we are searching for some cabin that’s smaller and hopefully, cheaper.

You see, we had to walk quite a distance to the central from the cabin that we had stayed in.  And to our dismay, that cabin is already considered as being located in the “center of Saariselkä”.  Searching within that particular location itself for the list of available cabins gave us some “okay” cabins, some of which their interior design doesn’t suit Reko (he’s quite particular about it – he wants a real LOG cabin, i.e. not wooden planks; he wants one with sauna; he doesn’t want random white painted walls in the cabin…), and some which looked nice but are probably way too expensive.

And then there were some cabins that were located within 1~3km of the center of Saariselkä.  The thing is, we are going there in January, and it is the coldest time in winter between January and February.  So… walking 2km in the extreme cold and with the very high possibility of it being a windy winter as well… Well, let’s just say that the idea is not very enticing.  (And Reko still doesn’t have his driving licence, so… yeah, no car.)

Bleeeeehhh.  Let’s hope we’ll manage to get some nice cabin at the end of the day!  >_<

I’m amazed by how fast the automatic install for WordPress 3.0 is.  In the past, it used to take like 20 minutes to download / unpack / install, and sometimes it doesn’t even work for the first few times.  There were times when I had to try several times before the new update can be installed.  But this current version was installed in like, less than a minute.

I’m impressed.  o_O

With that out of the way…

Today is Chang Hong’s last day at work.  I think I’m going to miss him… for he is a rather efficient and helpful colleague to have around, especially now that I’m dealing with him.  Or rather, what his job scope used to be.  The other colleague who took over his job and whom I have to liase with from now on… let’s just say that she’s not as efficient nor as competent as CH.  Sigh.  Oh well, good workers come and go.  It’s up to the supervisors and the company to keep these people.

During his farewell party, another colleague of mine from SQA department (whom I’ve never spoken to) was passing the disposable plates around to us.  Suddenly, he turned to me and said, “Oh, the Karaoke Queen!”

I was like, “Whut o_O?”

“You are the Karaoke Queen.  I heard you sang at the company karaoke a few times.  You sang very well!”

I was about to reply “Uh, not really…”, but he turned away to pass the plates to other people…

It was rather strange to be complimented by someone whom I’ve hardly spoke to… but it was nice of him to remember.  Remember me, that is.

And I should also remember to reply “thank you” (even if I might not agree), instead of trying to be humble and say anything else.  >_>

Still, I guess I should be happy…?  :D

Tired, tired, tired.

Mentally tired of getting bitten and worrying about getting bitten.  Physically tired because I hadn’t been sleeping well due to the previous reason.

Sigh.  I honestly wonder when will the bug (that’s biting me ) die… T_T

Burh.

I’m being bitten alive again.

For some reason, the bugs stayed off me when I was staying at my sis’ place.  Even when I came back home for a few days’ stay, I wasn’t bitten at all.  The moment I came back home permanently, I was bitten again.

Sigh… I guess I’ll just live with the bites, so long as the bugs stay off my face.  :(  Nothing much that I can do anyway…

I’m emotionally stressed with all the bites now, because my reaction to these bites were pretty huge and they caused a huge patch of rash around the bitten areas that will take ages before the scarred patch would return to normal skin colour.  They made wearing skirts and shorts outdoors almost impossible because the patches were too hideous.

I just hope it won’t get worse… and that it’ll be better once the lift upgrade is done on our block…

One can hope… :(
