First impression \u2013 he\u2019s a nice guy.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen some of his posts in the forum before and he struck me as a rather wise person, with mild temperament.\u00a0 I always had the feeling that he was older than me lol!\u00a0 After a bit of chatting, we both found out that we have eye appointments at SNEC, and at the very same clinic C too! \u00a0What a coincidence!\u00a0 So apart from loving artisan coffee, we go to the same eye clinic as well.\u00a0 Then he found out that I actually play D3, which he ALSO plays as well.\u00a0 So, wow, one more topic to talk about.\u00a0 (But he\u2019s a damn hardcore player, I\u2019m not. \u00a0:x)<\/p>\n
At one point when we were chatting in D3, I found out that\u2026 I actually knew him long time ago, during the CS days.\u00a0 D:\u00a0 I knew his then-CS nick, and I\u2019ve seen him before. He doesn\u2019t remember me though, which I\u2019m not surprised, as I was way too low profile back then.\u00a0 But wow, just that knowledge alone opened us up even further lol.\u00a0 We were talking about old mutual friends, the old days of CS, etc\u2026<\/p>\n
Then we arranged a meet up as we\u2019ve agreed to share a box of mooncakes among ourselves, and at the same time he\u2019d bring me to the caf\u00e9 he introduced to me.\u00a0 It was rather nervous to meet someone for the first time (I mean, it really had been too long since I last saw him \u2013 he was still a young boy back then!), yet kind of interesting and exciting at the same time because he\u2019s someone I know (or used to know).\u00a0 He told me he\u2019s fat (like, used to be 190 kg!) but from his FB I can see his weight has already dropped down to 99kg (and that\u2019s an awesome achievement, I\u2019d say!), and he does powerlifting and all that.\u00a0 And he kept telling me he looks old.\u00a0 So okaaayyyyyy, I painted a picture of a buffed, big-sized, bald (he sent me a pic of his shaved head D: ), bespectacled, old looking dude in my mind.<\/p>\n
I remembered as I exit Orchard station, I was still asking him on Whatsapp if he had reached. \u00a0I didn\u2019t get to see his reply when I looked around the station to see if I can see anyone resembling him.\u00a0 Well, I can\u2019t really explain it but the moment my eyes land on him, I knew it\u2019s him LOL.\u00a0 And he\u2019s NOT the way I imagined him to be.\u00a0 So don\u2019t ask me why I know it\u2019s him, I just do.\u00a0 (Woman\u2019s instinct, probably?!)<\/p>\n
All right, so let\u2019s see.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s buffed – Yup that\u2019s right.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s big sized – Yup that too.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s bald \u2013 Nope.\u00a0 His head ain\u2019t as shiny as the pic he sent me lol.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s bespectacled \u2013 Yup.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s old looking \u2013 like hell he was =_=\u00a0 He was youthful looking, especially when he smiled or grinned.\u00a0 Goodness, which part is uncle sia?!\u00a0 =___=<\/p>\n
I\u2019d say the first 15minutes was a little awkward\u2026 like both of us still trying to adjust to each other.\u00a0 But after that, the conversation started flowing and\u2026 everything was great!\u00a0 He was absolutely charming and honestly, I haven\u2019t been laughing so much since god knows when.\u00a0 He had me laughing throughout lunch, and my jaws seriously ached from laughing so much during the two hours we were at the caf\u00e9 he recommended.\u00a0 He was so funny!\u00a0 In some ways, he reminded me Daniel, the only friend I had back then in poly.\u00a0 Daniel played CS as well, was a chao camper too, was \u201cround\u201d in size too, loves to imitate people too, loves to irritate people too\u2026 lol!<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know. In some ways it was like so weird and uncanny, the way we got to know each other (again) and how quickly we\u2019ve became buddies.\u00a0 But yet it\u2019s quite heartwarming to know I\u2019ve actually got a new (or should I say old?\u00a0 Damn this is awkward lol) friend, one whom I barely knew for a month but yet we have become really fast friends.\u00a0 Hopefully this new friendship can last! Like, really last.\u00a0 :)<\/p>\n
And I\u2019m also hoping something positive would happen between him and the girl who\u2019s been with him for so many years as well.\u00a0 He really, really deserves some happiness in his life after all that shit that happened to him when he was young.<\/p>\n
Anyway here are some pics of the caf\u00e9 which he brought me to.\u00a0 What can I say?\u00a0 Awesome latte (definitely one of the best I\u2019ve ever drank), sinful desserts and lovely ambience (or maybe it\u2019s due to the company I had!\u00a0 XD). The Portland cold brew was his, of which he let me sipped a little. It was surprisingly smooth, with only a slight tinge of sourish and bitter taste. I was so intrigued that I took a second sip. It’s really good! I’m tempted to give it a try the next time I visit this caf\u00e9. Thanks B, for your recommendation!<\/p>\n
