I’ve heard of this from a year ago. \u00a0The original classic cult manga-turned-animated movie (or was it the other way round??) will be turned into a Hollywood movie with real actors this time, and a Korean actress will be casted as Saya.<\/p>\n

Now, I must confess that I did not watch the original Blood The Last Vampire animated movie. \u00a0But I did watch the Blood+ series (anime and manga), and I like the story very much. \u00a0(Probably because the anime was very emo… so emo that I couldn’t really take it at some parts, haha!)<\/p>\n

So I must say, last year when I first heard of this news, I was quite upset because usually manga-turned-movie (with real actors) are bad, apart from Death Note. \u00a0I mean, Initial D was bad. \u00a0DragonBall Z was… not even bearable? \u00a0Then comes Blood. \u00a0<\/p>\n

I watched the trailer on its website and I think… it doesn’t look half bad. \u00a0The Korean actress who was casted as Saya was\u00a0Jeong Ji-Hyun (the actress in My Sassy Girl – \u6211\u7684\u91ce\u86ee\u5973\u53cb), and I’m surprised that her English doesn’t really make me cringe. \u00a0At some parts of the trailers, she actually did have a few facial expressions that portrayed Saya’s internal conflict (the eternal question of whether she’s a human or not). \u00a0It’s really a pleasant surprise because it’s an emotion that’s not easy to portray with just facial expressions. \u00a0Okay, maybe because I know what was going on in Saya’s mind all the time, but still, I think the actress is good.<\/p>\n

Of course, trailers always look interesting. \u00a0I mean, look at the trailer of The Da Vinci Code. \u00a0It looked so action-packed, so intense, but the movie itself… errrrrrr….. \u00a0well, I’m not saying the movie was not good, but it’s totally not what you expect based on watching the trailer. \u00a0Of course, Reko has his doubts when it comes to such movies (i.e. movies based on video games\/anime\/manga), but he had promised to watch it with me if and when this movie is released here.<\/p>\n

I’m really hoping that some film distributor will bring this movie in… I want to watch!<\/p>\n
