It’s Time…

June 27th, 2009

… almost, for me to leave Finland.

I’m going to miss the quietness of this place, the hot hot sun and the cold cold air (quite a potent combination, I must say), the delicious yet simple food like bread with cheese and ham, mashed potatoes with homemade meatballs, tofu ice cream, etc…Gonna miss his mom, his sis, his aunt, his brother in law, the summer cottage, and that small attic where we slept in his house.  Also, the evening movies before we go to bed, the discussions of ecological food, the bread he baked for me…

Will there come a time when I’ll be permanently relocated here?  Will I be able to give up what I have in Singapore to live here in Finland?  Will I get used to this place without knowing a single bit of Finnish?

I wonder…

Greetings, from Finland

June 25th, 2009

Hello!  Just in case you guys haven’t been following my updates in my Facebook, here I am telling you guys that I’m fine here in Finland, enjoying the initially super cold summer, then the super hot summer now… haha!

Been going out almost everyday, taking cruises to Porvoo, sleeping at the old musky woodshed thingy at their summer cottages, watching seagulls play over my head… etc etc.  It’ll be three (including today) more days before I head back to Singapore, but I’m trying not to think about that now.

Maybe I should stay here longer since there’s a community spread of H1N1 in Singapore now, lol.

Okay, time to go get change and hit the amusement park, Linnanmäki!

Finally… Some Excitement…

I’m leaving on a jet plane~

Don’t know when I’ll be back again~

Okay, I know when I’ll be back… That is, if I don’t get quarantined anywhere.  I’ll touch down in Singapore on 28th June, so don’t miss me too much, yeah?  XD

I’ll try to be online as much as I can, if I get to use Reko’s home computer.  Maybe to update via Facebook, post some pictures, or maybe to update here.

Maybe.

Yeah, I finally in some kind of holiday mood.  I’m slightly excited, a little less worried and nervous about the H1N1 and that 大姨妈 issue.  Maybe I worried about the latter issues so much earlier on that I kinda got tired worrying about it.  LOL.

I’ll be careful; I’ll be diligent about upkeeping my hygiene habits (will wash my hands till my skin falls off, yeah?); I’ll wear a mask if anyone on the plane sneezes or cough near me (though I’m half hoping that the plane will be empty); and I’ll SMS back to my family members whenever I can.

So no worries, yeah…

Onwards to Finland, with love~!

Random Post

June 13th, 2009

My sis likes SS501′s “UR Man”. Yay! Spread the love for SS501! =D

*Cough* Okay that was random…

I’m flying off next Tuesday at 1am in the morning… the start of my holiday, all the way till 28th June.  2 weeks of rest and rejuvenation… yet why am I feeling so lethargic…?

I’m totally not in the holiday mood at all.  Sigh…  I guess it’s just a mix of all factors:  the recent incident that happened in my office, the fact that I’m transiting in Osaka (which is in the list of  H1N1 affected countries by WHO), and the fact that I’m gonna have my 大姨妈 during my two weeks of vacation.  Bleh, the last one is the killer of all. >_>;  But I guess I’ll need to deal with it… I just hope that it will not come during the weekend when we are spending at the summer cottage.  That will be bad because they don’t even have a tap/flushing system… Everything is “kampung” style, you know?

Sigh…

Can someone tell me if 5 face masks are gonna be enough >_>?  Can I still wear back the mask after I take it down to eat my meals?  I wanna force Reko to wear one too, but I think he’ll rather I kill him before he’d wear one… -_-;  He kept thinking that I’m over-reacting… when everyone around me says that they support me in preparing the masks and anti-bacterial wipes for the trip.

It’s not like I have 4 months of holiday like him… I can’t really afford to get sick or quarantined when I have to haul my ass back to work asap.

Bah.  It’s so hard to work up a holiday mood now…

Recession Hits Home…

June 9th, 2009

Today my company held a first wave of “termination exercise”. Quite a number of employees were terminated on the spot.

Our department was thankfully spared this time… though I doubt we would be lucky again for the next round.

Wonder when will that be…?

Sigh, this really spoils my holiday mood…
